I moved to Taichung a little more than a month ago. I am looking for a Mandarin Chinese tutor, who is also somewhat fluent in English, who can help me learn the language. I know very little Chinese, but I am hoping to gain basic conversational skills and some reading skills.

My name is Andy, my partner Ben and I have just arrived in Taichung, and want to learn mandarin - especially food, directions, and basic survival skills. Ideally we are looking for someone who we can meet several times a week, at least to begin with, and who is happy to work with the two of us. Please contact me if you are interested.

Hey! One of my primary goals while living and working in Taiwan is to be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Mandarin! I'm a dedicated learner and I learn quickly but I need someone who is focused, will bring useful lessons that build each time we meet. I'm willing to hang out and be friends also, as I love meeting new people, but at least at first my primary goal is to get an excellent tutor. I'm willing to pay- but would prefer free or discounted tutoring the first time we meet to see if your tutoring skills will meet my needs. My current level of mandarin is a mix of skills. I can read roughly 100 characters, I know my bopomofo with about an 85% accuracy (and improving daily) and I understand way more than I speak at the moment. I have an odd work schedule, so that will have to be the first point of discussion-- If you think we'll work great together then I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi. I'm looking for a short-term Chinese tutor who can help me get comfortable with banking and stock trading in Taiwan. Specifically, I'd like to be able to understand all the operations and terminology on the online banking website, and the website for my stock broker, and be able to do very basic research about companies. You don't need to be very familiar with these things already. I think primarily we would just be visiting some websites where you would read and explain the content to me, although it would definitely help if you've done some stock-trading before. I am only in Taipei for the next two weeks, but would like to take the knowledge and be able to use it from abroad.
