My name is Roy and I am seeking someone to teach me how to speak Mandarin. I work in Science Park and I am on a long term assignment to Taiwan. I am from the U.S. and I live near Costco in Hsinchu. I would prefer to meet in the mornings before I have to work.

I've been living in Taoyuan, Taiwan for two months now. All I know is hello, thank you and some other words. I think learning to speak would be more useful for the time being, but learning to read and write chinese would be great too. I know some Chinese characters because I minored in Japanese studies in college and some of the characters have the same meaning like numbers.

Hi! I am a writer from Ireland - I have been learning Mandarin intensively and can already express myself basically when talking to people. I already have a teacher, but cannot meet up regularly enough so I am looking for another teacher who may be more available. I would be able to go to any central MRT and sit down in Starbucks or similar and we can have a lesson entirely in Mandarin. If you speak slowly and are patient, I will only need occasional words explained in English. Practice is what I need more than anything else, so I am looking for conversation more than anything else. We can bring up particular situations or themes after an introduction lesson. I would also need you to perhaps read some simple sentences to me, as my listening comprehension is still weak. I also need to work on my vocabulary as lack of important words is what slows me down from speaking myself. Please have EXPERIENCE teaching Mandarin, and be available to meet up - ideally in the morning or afternoon. If you only have experience going through lessons or relying on a textbook, this will not work for me as I need someone comfortable with encouraging conversation and with enough imagination to help me keep it flowing with my basic level. Please quote your rate and availabilities in the email. First lesson being a free test would be ideal, but not required.
