I am looking for a Chinese tutor in Kaohsiung. I know very little Chinese so we’d be starting from the beginning. Also happy to negotiate payments. Ive been living in Kaohsiung for since April 2022.

I will be spending the week of December 17 (2023) in Kaohsiung and am hoping to use my time there to improve my Mandarin conversational skills and vocabulary. I was born in Taiwan but raised in the United States and am currently living in Belgium, so I have a foundational understanding of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation (tones, etc.) but it's definitely low level and needs improving/practice. I'm especially interested in improving my vocabulary, conversational abilities and understanding of local culture. I just arrived in Taipei to work at a restaurant and am looking to learn mandarin whilst I am here to help me better engage with the people, culture, and (especially!) food in Taiwan. I have not yet started work so am very flexible with my schedule. My three children will be attending an all Chinese school soon. They have some background in Chinese, but they need a tutor to help them with practicing speaking and listening. They are 9, 8, & 6 years old. Their school is does not give homework, so the focus will be on speaking & listening, with some occasionally writing help.
