Hello! My name is Jordan Minke and I'm an American planning on moving to Taiwan in early 2024. I speak some Mandarin and I'm looking to improve my language skills as well as continue teaching. I have taught ESL at the University of New Mexico's Center for English Language and American Culture (https://celac.unm.edu/) for over 1 year to students of many levels in 4 subjects, including: reading, writing, conversation, and grammar. I love watching my students improve their English language skills as well as teaching the fundamentals of American and academic culture. I exclusively have experience teaching adults, so I would prefer a position working with students at least 12 years old or older. My background in linguistics gives me a unique and evidence-based perspective when teaching English. I am better able to understand patterns in both students' pronunciation and grammar mistakes and design activities to help correct them. Throughout my time at UNM, I have designed hundreds of lesson plans and written dozens of exams. I would prefer to move to the greater Taipei area (Taipei or New Taipei City).
