I'm a freelance instructor in French and English as second languages, currently working with the Language Research and Development Group in Montreal, Canada, where I help federal government employees improve their language skills. I've also taught at the House of Friendship here in Montreal, working with diverse classrooms of immigrants, refugees, and other non-native speakers of all ages. I'm planning to spend part of next summer traveling and would love the chance to teach abroad during that time. I'm looking for temporary opportunities—as a tutor, teacher, teaching assistant, or even an intern—where I can share my skills and learn in a new setting. My availability would be for some or all of May, June, July, and August 2026. I'm very adaptable in the classroom, thanks to my current work, which often requires quick thinking and flexibility to meet students' needs. While I don't speak Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin, I'm familiar with these languages and some of the challenges their speakers face when learning English or French. As a lifelong language learner myself (French, Korean, Farsi, Swedish, Japanese, and Latin) and a student of linguistics, I've developed a good sense for how to bridge misunderstandings—especially when there isn't a shared language to fall back on.
