Hello, I'll be graduating from the University of Iowa in December with a BA in Chinese Language and Literature. I also studied at Beijing Daxue for two months last summer. I really enjoy teaching and I would like to try teaching English in Taiwan, because it seems like a wonderful place and I would like to improve my Mandarin. Every person that I've met who is from Taiwan is the friendliest person that I've ever met, so I must go there. I think that since I can speak Chinese, I will be better able to clarify certain English words or sayings that are difficult to explain. Also, since I am from the midwest, I speak clear basic English with no strong accent, so my English is easy to understand. I believe that patience is the key to teaching, so I would try to make learning English an enjoyable activity for my students. I have had some great Chinese teachers in College and I would like to be as good as them some day.
