I'm hoping to spend summer 2017 in Asia and am hoping to grow in understanding and basic communication of Mandarin before then.

Hi! I was born and raised in California, USA. My mom is from Taiwan and my dad was from Hong Kong. My Mandarin is at a minimum conversational level, but there are a lot of everyday vocabulary words that I don't understand. I would like to get to a high conversational level. Some things I would like to study is vocabulary and also possibly learning mandarin through translating english children storybooks. Hi, I have a 10 year old who is going to start school in a couple of weeks and would like to get her as much Mandarin as possible by then. Looking for someone 1-2 hours a day 3 or 4 days a week until school starts. After she starts school I need someone who can help her with her homework in the evenings. At this point we have some very limited vocab, and need someone to help with pronunciation and of course everything else. Thanks!

The Chinese level between the two is different. One is at an intermediate level and the other is at a beginner level. I just finished a course at Chinese Language Division at NTU and will be beginning a course at the International Chinese Language Program next spring.
