I have been studying Mandarin on my own for 2.5 years but I have a LOT of room for improvement (especially listening and speaking [grammar/sentence patterns and vocabulary]), which a private tutor could really help me out with. I'm also hoping that by the end of 2016 I can pass the TOCFL test at an upper-intermediate/lower-advanced level. I am willing to meet 3-4 hours a week.

I'm based in Taipei looking for a tutor to help me improve my listening and speaking. I would like a tutor that is good at making conversation so we can avoid those awkward silences. Experience isn't essential, but I'd like you to be very patient and persistent and not afraid to be strict with correcting my mistakes, especially in grammar! My reading ability with traditional characters is quite far behind my ability with simplified characters, so I would prefer to work on reading in spare time and not during sessions.
