Hugokids Kindergarten and Hugokids Language School in Chiayi, Taiwan, is looking for two full-time English teacher starting in August of 2019. We are located in the city center and close to shopping centers, gyms, the train station, the high-speed rail, movie theaters, restaurants serving cuisine from around the world and Costco. The school is well respected and has been in operation for over 22 years with three locations around Chiayi and operates a non-profit organization that offers scholarships and assistance to the community. The full-time position includes morning and afternoon hours, around 25-27 hours a week. Hourly wages and monthly salaries are available. We offer a very competitive pay with health insurance, resign bonuses and other benefits. We will also help with the visa application process and obtaining your work permit. All lesson plans, stationary and books are provided and training is available to new teachers. For teachers coming from overseas, the school will assist in everything from finding housing to picking you up from the airport when you arrive. The foreign teaching staff is managed by a fellow foreign teacher who understands the needs, culture and expectations of the foreign staff. Morning snacks, lunches and afternoon snacks are made available to all our teachers. Your teaching schedule never includes weekend teaching hours and we don’t have hidden unpaid office hours like many of the other schools. We have an amazing support staff and employ full-time PE coaches, teacher assistants, drivers, gardeners, cooks, accountants and a full administrative staff to ensure that the school operates in the best condition possible.

Applicants must be a native English speaker with a valid passport from a native speaking country and a 4-year university degree (Bachelor’s).

Chiayi is located on the west coast just south of central Taiwan at the foot of the world-famous Ali Mountain. We are just an hour away from the capital, Taipei, up north and a couple of hours away from the vacationing hot spot and seaside town of Kenting down south. You can find everything from Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Italian, and French cuisine to burger stands, Mc Donald’s, KFC and Dominoes. You can shop at Costco and supermarkets or experience traditional outdoor markets. The city has a lot to offer and it is a great place to experience Taiwan.
