Hello I'm a 38 year old American looking for a tutor in Mandarin Chinese speaking and listening, not interested in reading and writing at this time. I live in Da Yuan, just outside Da Yuan City, near Taoyuan Intl Airport. I would like a tutor one evening per week, Monday to Wednesday, for 2 hours or so.

I am returning to New York at the end of the month and I don't want to forget all the Chinese I learned while I was here. I have been studying Chinese at TLI for over a year. I am looking for a Mandarin teacher for this coming week, from 3rd (mon) to 7th (fri) in Taipei. 2 hours every day for 5 days. Hours can be flexible but need to be during daytime. My level is very very beginer.

I am currently learning Chinese at Shida University, but I feel that my class is not a suitable level for my ability, it offers no challenge. I am looking to seriously improve my Chinese. I am looking to have a class for three hours once a week, and I don't want to be taught straight out of a mandarin center textbook, though using text books as supplementary material is fine so long as it's not the focus of the class. I want to focus on conversation and building vocabulary, as my grammar is already not bad, vocabulary is what I lack the most. I also want to spend one hour of our class on reading and writing. So first 2 hours, conversation and vocabulary building, 3rd hour reading and writing. I can already read and write quite a few characters, but not enough to really read a book or even a menu completely, so I would like to improve. Depending on schedule, when I finish at Shida I may be interested in adding another day of class. Thanks! Logan
