I am a new English teacher that just moved to Taipei and have almost zero Chinese knowledge. I am a very fast learner and can read a few characters because I studied Japanese. I am able to pronounce/repeat anything that people say to me, so I can learn very quickly. Since I teach during the day, I am looking for help in the evening/night. Hi all, I am looking for a tutor of Chinese and Taiwanese. I am hoping to find someone who is very dynamic and willing to create a program of study for me to follow. I have tried TLI, but found that all they did was get me to "repeat after them." There were no review sheets, no homework, no quizzes, etc. I believe that, to be effective, any language program needs all of the above and more. I live in Dali and would prefer someone in this same area. If I have to travel too far, I will probably miss a lot of classes.
