Hi,
My name is Rob - I'm coming to Taipei starting in June to participate in the ICLP summer Chinese program. This will be my second time studying Chinese in Taipei. While my Chinese is already conversational, I currently have no idea how to talk about anything science or math related. This is less than ideal as I am a mathematician and would like to be able to talk about work related things in Chinese.
To get started, I just want to be able to talk about very simple things - like percentages, fractions, integers, and other elementary school level math concepts. Also electric fields, waves, and simple physics ideas. But ultimately I would like to be able to talk about calculus in Chinese.
Being able to talk about programming would also be nice. Basic ideas like being able to talk about writing a program, compiling, names of data structures etc.
