Currently, I am a Master student specializing in Teaching Chinese as Second Language at National Chengchi University in Taiwan. Before my Master’s degree, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Literature, which has provided me with solid knowledge and understanding of Chinese literature, history and culture. After two years of the TCSL Master Program, I have further advanced my knowledge in Chinese linguistics and pedagogical techniques, especially in combining pragmatics into Chinese Teaching, material design and curriculum design. In my current Master thesis, I am trying to create a model of teaching Chinese via feature films to high-intermediate level students. Moreover, I have actively participated in every teaching opportunity that presented itself so that I could work in practice and improve my teaching skills.In my class, I have incorporated hands-on, interesting activities and games into the curricula to encourage students to speak up in Chinese. I also have the ability to help individual students that need help in specific areas, by offering private tutor sessions. I believe that I can can help you to learn better about all aspects of Chinese with my academic knowledge regarding TCSL, my rich teaching experience on a multicultural level and my commitment to excellence in teaching.
