＊The Establishment of Ming Dao University
In 1998, the founding committee visited a variety of universities in U.S.A., Australia, Canada, mainland China, Japan, and Hong Kong. The proposal of curriculum planning was completed and approved by MOE in 1999. MDU Board was assembled in 2000 and initiated campus construction in the same year. In 2001, the first 600 hundred students moved in the MDU dorm and started the first semester of MDU history in September.

All freshmen and most students of higher year level live on campus. Student clubs, hereby, are very lively and active. Students form their own activity clubs, ranging from music ones, drama ones, to the ones which match students' majors, like Connoisseur's Coffee Club (which matches the Department of Hospitality Management) or Modeling Club (this matches the Department of Fashion Imaging). Another prominent club is also Ming Dao's unique : the Canon Club.
