Hello,
I'm a professional Chinese teacher who has been teaching the language for over 7 years. I received my M.A. in Chinese language pedagogy at Indiana University Bloomington with full scholarship and taught at the college level for 4 years in the states. I’ve also led a group of high school students from Indiana to Hangzhou, China and taught them at a local high school there in an intensive summer program. Prior to that, I had taught Mandarin to toddlers and young children in Turkey and Australia. Last year, I came back to Taiwan and have been tutoring online for 9 months. I can teach both simplified and traditional Chinese and from beginners to advanced learners.
As a certified tester by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreigner Languages, I can assess your oral proficiency in Chinese in a clear and structured way. So don’t worry if you’re not sure about your current proficiency level. We’ll get a better idea of it and work together towards your goals!
In my spare time, I like to cook, bake, swim, watch movies and TV shows on Netflix! 😊 I was inspired to become a teacher to speakers of other languages when I went to Turkey the 2nd time as an exchange student (I was there 4 times in total). Learning languages and cultures is always one of my favorites! With my experiences living in these different countries, I’d love to share my stories and am eager to learn from you, too!
I hope to facilitate your Chinese learning and start a happy learning journey with you all!

I want to make learning language a fun thing to do! It's easy to quit learning a language since it gets boring when you go deeper. Yet I'd like to engage the student from the topic they're interested in and extend from that based on their level. I wish you can learn Mandarin spontaneously even you're out of classroom and focus on how to apply Mandarin into daily life. (So that you don't forget easily after class!)
I'd customize the teaching based on each student's need. I'll see which part the student's weak at and bring about more practices around that.
I have been a contractual Chinese teacher for foreign engineers in a technical company for a year, 2 years full-time kindergarten Chinese teacher in Indonesia and University Chinese teacher in South Korea. I have been teaching Chinese lessons and broad experience in classroom and online teaching, as well as 1-on-1 tutoring.
(Professional in Topic and culture course, business conversation, TOCFL test, Grammar and Listening, speaking skills Training.)
Need help mastering your tones and pronunciation? Or perhaps a clear explanation
of when to use “了” , “就” and all those other tricky words? Whatever the case, I
continually adapt my teaching methods to suit such varying needs: as a postgraduate
student researching how to teach foreigners Chinese at the University of Taipei, such
flexibility strikes me as pedagogically necessary and particularly effective.
In terms of experience I have taught varying aspects of Chinese, ranging from
business orientated to the academic; that is, at both basic and advance levels;
further any of these combinations can be taught in simplified or traditional Chinese
using pinyin and/or zhuyin: I utilize a range of different teaching materials for this
very reason.
As a native Taiwanese, I know just how difficult learning another language can be.
Because of this I’m a patient but attentive teacher, and one who is always excited at
the prospect of helping new students.
Feel free to email with questions!!
THANK YOU :)
I grow up in a tri-lingual environment speaking Cantonese, Mandarin and English. I learn Mandarin using English which I believe gives me an advantage of getting to understand what difficulties English speakers would come across when learning Mandarin.
I have worked as a presenter and actor in both languages for educational programmes produced by government institutions. Pronunciation will be my focus in teaching.
