**ADMISSION**

With a view on the increasing internationalization in higher education, this Office acts as the contact window for NCHU by promoting its international profile and recruiting international students from all over the world. This Office stays in frequent contacts with all sister universities overseas, so as to keep them constantly informed of the status of international recruitments at NCHU. It is our goal that we recruit over 200 foreign students for the 2007 academic year. This number is set for steady growth so that NCHU becomes a truly international institute.

＊Academic Year
There are two semesters in each academic year. The first semester starts in September and ends in January. The second semester starts in February and ends in June.

＊Scholarship
Scholarships in Taiwan
International students can apply for the scholarships provided by the Taiwanese government. Please visit the website of the Ministry of Education for details.

The applicants can submit their applications beginning in January by visiting the representative offices of Taiwan of their home countries or the representative offices closest to them (if there is no representative office of Taiwan in their home country). Please visit the websites of the Taiwanese embassies or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for details.

＊NCHU Scholarship
NCHU provides scholarships. All the applicants have to do is to tick the box for the application of NCHU scholarships in the Admission Application Form, for the consideration of the Review Committee for Admissions of Foreign Students. We will notify the winners of the NCHU scholarships at the time of announcement.
