First founded as an orphanage by Madame Chiang Kai-Shek in 1955 for war orphans, Huaxing later added a high school to its picturesque campus in 1969. In order to further strengthen the school’s appeal, our Foreign Language Center was established in the early 2000s to provide junior high and senior high school students with English immersion and interaction on a consistent and dependable basis outside of their regular English classes. Now catering to a thousand of the school’s 1,200 students, the Foreign Language Center focuses on topic-based unit instruction to build language skills and vocabulary while providing opportunities for engaging literature. We offer students opportunities to use English with native English speakers, and with each other.

We are not just looking for teachers. We are looking for people to join our team with the dedication and motivation to contribute to our mission. Huaxing supports its teachers academically and disciplinarily, allowing teachers to display a high degree of consistency and responsibility. We need strong, self-motivated individuals who can display these virtues and be innovative, energetic figures in the classroom.

Responsibilities:
• Teaching English as a Second Language classes
• Working hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (Tuesday through Friday); 7:30am – 5:00pm (Monday with Flag-raising ceremony, weather permitting)
• 20 teaching periods (50 minutes each) per week
• 3-4 separate class preps
• Participation in Foreign Language Center test creation
• Extracurricular and competition coaching and/or supervision

Full-time positions include:

Requirements:
• State Certified Teaching License or APRC
• Teaching experience in Taiwan or other countries
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a western university
• Native English speaker
