My 64 y/o dad was a professor and talented in Chinese but lost his ability to speak and write because he had a stroke. He has recovered basic conversation but requires more practice. He needs help with pronunciation, relearning characters and basics, practicing memory, and remastering speech.

If tutoring goes smoothly, he could progress to learning writing and/or typing with you or a different tutor if you only want to practice speech and basics with him. His left hand is functional. He appreciates quality educators because his family is full of educators and administrative members and he would be a nice, respectful student.

We are looking for a kind person to practice Chinese basics with him and help him reacquaint himself with Taiwan/the world because we don't want the common post-stroke depression to afflict him.

I am using a photo from when he was younger because he looks grumpy in his recent photos. He has gained weight but is the same nice student. I am from California and could language/culture exchange and our family would be happy to make your employment more pleasant for both sides.
