3 or 4 rooms available in a spacious, well-equipped 4 bedroom townhouse. (I’m a previous tenant posting for the landlord.)

What you get:

The house has three floors. There's a living room, a separate dining area, and a full kitchen on the first floor; a bedroom and a master bedroom on the second floor; and another bedroom and a Japanese-style room on the third floor. The kitchen comes with two burners, plenty of cupboard space, basic pots/pans/plates/utensils, and a fridge. The living room has two sofas and space to set up a TV. All of the bedrooms have beds (double on the second floor, single on the third floor), shelves/hanging space, and basic bed linens. There are three bathrooms, all Western-style wet/dry bathrooms with showers, and a washing machine and space to hang your clothes.

Location:

The house is in an alley off Zhongshan North Road, near Fulin Bridge. 5 minute walk to Fulin Bridge bus stop (bus #220, 902, 285, 203, R12, R15, 606, 685...) and 7 - 10 minute walk to Shilin MRT station.

Price:

Master bedroom = $13,000/month

2nd floor double bedroom = $12,000/month

3rd floor room = $7,000/month

Whole house = $30,000 for 3 bedrooms or $35,000 for 3 bedrooms + Japanese room

Personal note:

My boyfriend and I lived here for two years and were very comfortable. We only moved out because we had an opportunity to stay with family. The landlord is great - she speaks both English and Chinese, is quick to deal with repairs, and only asks that you take good care of the house and treat it with respect. She's very honest and direct. You will get a very clear contract with your name on it (so no problems with your ARC or taxes).

This house is great for couples or single people who are just moving here and don't have much furniture, since it comes with the basics. It's also great if you like to cook. I do, and in four years in Taipei, I haven't found anything else in this price bracket that has comparable kitchen facilities.
