為什麼對學中文有興趣?
When I was a kid I used to watch Chinese TV programs with my family. When you first arrived did you speak Chinese at all?
剛到台灣的時候,會說中文嗎?
Although I had studied Chinese in Indonesia, I still couldn’t speak Chinese fluently when I first arrived in Taiwan. I could only speak Chinese very slowly and then switch to English sometimes. I think it is because of the environment: In Indonesia I would use Chinese everyday but few opportunities to practice actually conversing. So, when I first arrived in Taiwan, facing a total Chinese environment, I could barely speak. But after few days, I felt better.

I chose Chinese Culture University because of a friend’s advice. He said that Chinese Culture University has a cheap tuition and well-structured courses. I took his advice and enrolled and…he was right!! In Chinese Culture University, we not only learn Chinese but also understand the real Chinese culture. I think it is helpful to know the culture when learning the language. Furthermore, the Mandarin Learning Center at Chinese Culture University provides many different kinds of Chinese classes for students to choose from!
