Hello, I'm an English teacher based at a buxiban in Taichung. I came to Taiwan in November with the intention to learn Mandarin. At the moment I am self taught; using self-teach DVDs I have learned basic Chinese and insist on using it in a private capacity (that is, when I'm not at work).
The problem is that the book teaches Chinese in pinyin, lessons in English and simplified characters by rote. I am teaching myself how to write traditional characters from another book, so that helps though.
What I am looking for is a teacher to teach me all aspects of Mandarin Chinese, but absolutely refuses to speak English in lessons. A true Chinese teacher. Email me at [email protected]
