I offer personal and group tutoring for both Dutch and English. The approach will be dependent on the students level and preferences of studying (see below). The most important thing however is that the student is at ease and comfortable with the tutor. I expect the student will study, but I will not drill you. Studying a language is fun, and it should be.
Tutoring will take place in a public place like a teashop.
Depending on the students level the focus will be on mastering basic grammar patterns and simple conversations (beginners)using basic teaching materials and exercises. I will provide a list of words to be studied, which then will be used by having a conversation with me.
For advanced students the main method will be reading and discussing magazine, newspaper or academic articles, which will improve argumentation and conversation skills. Depending on the students preferences, writing will be trained by writing short summaries on the articles read with thoughts and opinions.
As I am a graduate Student in Political Science, with a focus in International Relations and Political Economy, I am especially suited to students that wish to train their conversational skills in these topics.

As a native Dutch speaker I can tutor students from all levels that are interested in studying Dutch. In addition, like most Dutch people, I have been studying English since age 8.
